Corrections to the text of the book
On page 173 of the first edition, the text reads: "In the 1960s and 1970s, because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, many were fired, imprisoned or sent to “re-education” camps." These actions were not because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, as the first cases in Cuba were not reported until the mid 1980s. They took place strictly to "deal" with homosexuality itself.
On page 26 of the first edition, the text should read that Fulgencio Batista returned to Cuba in 1952, not 1950. |
